My dearest new reader-
I am Annika, the writer behind this little blog. I plan on using this space as a sort of “grateful journal” to document my last semester in college. It is my hope that you will find this to be lighthearted, fun, truthful and encouraging! Here are a few things you should know about me:
-I am saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8.) I was five years old when I met Jesus- and nothing has been the same since! My relationship with Jesus continually changes me, refines me, refreshes me, comforts me. I could write forever about all the ways He has been faithful, even when everything around me is falling apart. I would love to share it all one day- there are simply not words enough to express His goodness.
-I am a senior in college pursuing a degree in Worship Studies with a minor in Writing. I have served on staff in worship ministry at local churches since my freshman year. This year I am in a practicum- a sort of internship where I am poured into and challenged by worship leaders who are well experienced and have many more years of leadership and practice. I assist in leading in chapel on campus, have led worship bands, and have been a part of various ensembles and a musical in my time in college. Writing is a hobby of mine that I am hopeful will give me different opportunities to be expressive. I LOVE what I get to do. It is truly a dream come true and a longing fulfilled to be exactly where God has me. I still feel like I have loads of learning and growing in my future- but this feels exciting to me!
-I am an adventurous, spontaneous, “wild & free” type of soul. (But sometimes change is hard and knowing expectations makes all the difference.) I am the kind of girl that likes to stop at a random taco truck next to a tire shop on the other side of town during finals week, or play sardines with friends in the dark on our college campus, just to say “we tried it.” Or climb as high as I can in the middle of the lockdown summer so I can see a panoramic view of the fireworks on the fourth of July. I happily seek to find good, clean fun in each day.
-I am blonde in every sense of the word. I love to laugh at my own “moments” and find life to be often humorous. I am usually loaded with questions- much to my professors’ dismay. The poor things! Many of my emails are titled with something along the lines of “2 Questions,” but before I hit "send" I think of more things that make their way into the message, and they are most definitely never related.
-I find that there is endless beauty and creativity around me. I believe that we are made in the image of our Creator. Consequently, it is innate within the human race to appreciate artistry- and there is loveliness to be discovered everywhere. I love to try new things and appreciate the beauty that can be made of the simplest things. Putting outfits together thrills me. I enjoy decorating and making my spaces feel cozy and personal to me. I find that cooking new recipes (and often inventing my own on the spot) to be most fulfilling. I love learning about the creative ventures and passions of others.
-I am a true hopeless romantic. I think weddings are the greatest and 70th anniversaries are even better. I would gladly swoon at your neighbor's half-sister's cousin's niece's breathtaking wedding video at a chapel in the mountains. I love hearing the stories, celebrating the wins and hearing how couples triumph through hardship. I think marriage is a wonderful reflection of Jesus' sacrificial love for the church- and it fascinates me.

These are just a few things about me! I am looking forward to sharing more about what excites me and brings me joy. I can't wait to share all the things.
